Noida Police Bust Fake Marksheet Racket; Two Arrested with Dozens of Counterfeit Documents

Noida — In a major crackdown on academic fraud, Noida Police have arrested two individuals involved in printing and distributing fake marksheets and educational certificates. The accused, identified as Abhimanyu Gupta and Dharmendra Gupta, were taken into custody after a raid led by Sector 58 Police.

During the operation, 66 forged marksheets from various boards and universities were recovered, along with numerous fake documents, including ID cards, degree certificates, and seals used for counterfeiting.

According to police officials, the duo was running an illegal operation that catered to individuals who had failed exams or were unemployed, selling them “on-demand” fake marksheets for a price. These documents were designed to appear authentic and were used by clients to secure jobs or further admissions.

“They were targeting desperate students and job seekers, offering them fabricated documents in exchange for money,” said a senior police officer involved in the investigation. “The racket had been running for quite some time, and we believe more people may be involved or have used these fake credentials.”

The police have seized computer systems, printers, scanners, and rubber stamps used in the creation of the counterfeit documents. Authorities are now examining the recovered material to determine how many fake certificates were already in circulation.

The accused are being booked under multiple sections of IPC including cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy, and further interrogation is underway to uncover the full extent of the network.

Officials have also appealed to educational institutions and employers to verify certificates thoroughly before hiring or admitting candidates. The bust serves as a stark reminder of the growing problem of document fraud in the education sector.
